Oh, I agree with you 100%. How some of those complaining fools ever got into office, I’ll never know. I always vote – always – and I’ve never voted for an isolationist or a bigot (at least, to my knowledge). But still, here we are.

When the English tribe and the French tribe took over America and fought each other tooth and nail for control the Indians were already split into waring tribes. They had already marked out their territories and the principle of the weak to the wall was , as always, in operation. Europe was always in tribal upheaval it is the nature of man. At this moment the most powerful tribe in the world is the American one and the tribal chief is Donald Trump. Mr Trump is intensely tribal he has no time for foreigners he is self – centred.
Angela Merkel is a much better person she knows that we need to make the poor countries more habitable to stem the tide of immigration.

Not disagreeing with the fact the indigenous had heir problem tribes and problems, deffo not disagreeing with ow the Europeans have (mis ) conducted themselves through time and across the planet.
Absolutely agree with your estimation of The Rump. he’s really quit hysterical in a very sad way considering he is also a son of immigrants, German on one side and Scots on the other, as I recall…
Mad Angie, though… seems to me her way of befitting the poor countries is by making hers and France quite rich to the detriment of most others and by opening borders in all of Europe to a veritable flood instead of helping them their own places of origin. But then, the idea in both Germany and France seems to be to build up their wealth on the backs of foreign wage slaves, or so it seems to me and many I know in both places.
For the record, I am not white, of French or German origins and I do not subscribe to any of the major faiths/life philosophies on the planet. I am quarter Spanish and English on the maternal line, gods alone know what was the other half, was not born in either country. I grew up as migrant farm labour and am now a global citizen. I see far more ill come of the EU than good.
but perhaps my views are born of being anything but young…..

I apologise for temporarily out ranting you, I lost a good a friend a few days ago due to no more than she was black, elderly and wished to attend her grandkid’s graduation and did not walk quickly enough to suit some younger white and allegedly christian folk. Put me in a mighty distemper, it has….

Thanks for the info: I’m 75 and retired 14 years ago. We live in a small bungalow on the south coast of England. We have a grown up family all in the fast lane, the furthest is about 2hrs drive. I have no higher education but since retiring I’ve done my best to catch up.
Regarding people I believe individuals can differ greatly but when it comes to nations or tribes they are all much the same.
The industrial revolution started in Europe and that gave us a tremendous advantage. As you know power gives domination and soon leads to exploitation. It is a significant part of human nature and has been so throughout history. The strongest tribe wins the most ground and the greatest wealth. This is also seen in the animal kingdom survival of the fittest.
Religion should have taught us to care for the weak and it has done so in exceptional individuals but for many it has become a meaningless ritual. In India 20 million people have no toilets let alone any basic hygiene while here in the west we perform complex heart operations.

I’ve no higher education, either, though Gram was a teacher and taught me, chiefest amongst all things, how to continue learning when she was not there to guide me, in the absence of other teachers and even after she was gone. She also taught me a better version of the English language than the low dialect ( two thirds The Warrens, part Manc, part Yank and various others heavily tinted with " foreign " accents if you can imagine that ) I once had and to which I still revert in relaxed situations, among mates when near exhaustion and sometime to convey humour. I’ve no children, may or may not have half siblings older than meself, do have a number of cousins all over the globe I’d got to know as an adult.
I agree your assessment on individuals versus nations/tribes.
Your assessment of the the effect of the industrial age is much as the effect of The Iron Age upon those still in Bronze Age conditions during transition. it is unfortunate the strongest lot martially also seems to to have the stronger tendency to greed….. or perhaps it is just that all suffer greed and the those with better weapons WILL make for more robust manifestation of that tendency upon those who do not.
Most religions/philosophies DO admonish adherents to care for those less fortunate, to conscious of those not so well blessed as themselves. It is a sad truth humanity is not particularly good at reading and then following directions.
Is also true plumbing is scarce in large swathes of the sub – continent but equally true some of the finest eye surgeons and mathematicians on the planet come from the same place. Strange, no?
A pleasure to meet you and please feel welcome in this, my cyber – alcove.
