It’s a love song not intended for a chorus (or boy band). Sorry, my vote on this one is for Elvis.

Pentatonix are an a capella group of international renown one of the members is Kristin Maldonado, a woman.
It’s quite clear it’s a love song, and one dear to them.
The blonde Southerner destroyed the tune, sounded as if he were ( and very likely was ) on quaaludes in the recording. Still, I’d tried hearing it by others, have never cared for it by any of them. Pardon my dissent, I think it is these young and very talented people who have returned it to the spirit in which it was intended and have finally rendered it beautifully, made me happy I stumbled across it and did not dismiss it out of hand for the less than satisfactory renditions of the past.

You are certainly more knowledgeable than I on this subject. This is interesting, thanks for posting it. Looking for the original intent on how it’s to be played, I was surprised to find that it was written in the 17th to early 18th century.

Pentatonix sing many older songs, along with current ones. I love listening to them, they’re pretty awesome!
